The performing duo Bauerovi Josefov of the Bouček Puppet Theatre in the Czech Republic is coming to Cedar Rapids on their final US tour. Join us for a traditional Czech marionette puppet show that will feature two entertaining folktales, The Piggy Bank and Jester and the Princess. While the performers will speak Czech, translation of the storyline will be available.
The Piggy Bank is a classic fairy tale similar to The Three Little Pigs in which cleverness triumphs over cunning and diligence over laziness.
Jester and the Princess is about how an evil sorcerer cursed the princess into a dragon, but the brave knight Prťka with the help of Kašpárek freed her.
