Jan Bumba is currently working as a spokesperson of Charles University, the oldest and the largest university in the Czech Republic. Before entering the academic world, he spent two decades working as a journalist, mostly in the Czech National Radio. He has hosted hundreds of interviews, debates and discussions. As a journalist he covered elections both in the Czech Republic as well as in the USA and UK.
